In May, Lakeshore Recreation members Robert Lompart and Sheila Proteau played in the Barbados 2024 Masters Squash Tournament.
Rob kept us updated on how the tournament went. Here's his report.
May 24th
So my journey to Team Canada and certain sponsorship with Black Knight came to a quick end this afternoon with a loss to a German player in the consolations and a loss to a player from Guyana in the Plate round. So yep the Plate is where the scraps from the consultation end up ;)…
Sheila’s much more modest quest for the podium continues though. Friday she competes in the Semi-Final match of the Main Draw at 1:30 EST against British power House Polly Woodward.
Might be streamed live through YouTube. There are more than 100 competitors from 15 different countries. It has been lots of fun and lots of amazing squash. See everyone soon and wishing Sheila a strong match tomorrow.

Hi again Friends, The Barbados Masters Tournament wraps up today with finals this morning and a boat cruise this afternoon.
Sheila had two valiant matches and in the end placed 4th/16 in the 55 and up women’s. Pretty sure I was 16/16 in the men’s 55-64…next time.
Sheila’s final match was against fellow Canadian and long time squash friend/nemesis Alison Le Brar. Sheila won the first game and then Alison pushed through winning the next 3 games: 11-9, 11-9, 11-9! It was right down to the wire! It has been a great tournament in a beautiful place. See everyone soon
Congratulations Sheila and thank you Robert for keeping us updated!
