Updated: Dec 14

At Lakeshore Recreation, community is at the heart of everything we do. Again, for the 3rd year, we’re excited to partner with United Way Grey Bruce and the Southampton Rotary Club for the Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) fundraiser. This annual event is a meaningful opportunity to come together and raise funds for those who are struggling with hunger and homelessness in our community.

On Saturday, February 22nd, we invite you to join us at Rotary Hall, 39 Grey Street, Southampton, Ontario, as we walk side by side in support of this important cause.

What Is the Coldest Night of the Year?

The Coldest Night of the Year is a nationwide event that unites people across Canada to walk in support of local organizations fighting hunger and homelessness. In Saugeen Shores, this event will benefit United Way Grey Bruce, helping them provide essential services like food, shelter, and support for those experiencing hardship.

Participants will walk through the cold winter night—showing solidarity with those who face hunger and homelessness every day. You can choose between a 2 km or 5 km walk, and this event is suitable for all ages and fitness levels, so it’s a great opportunity to make a difference while staying active!

Why This Cause Matters:

Hunger and homelessness are real challenges for many in our community. As the demand for food banks and shelter services continues to grow, events like CNOY help provide much-needed relief and raise awareness about the impact of poverty.

At Lakeshore Recreation, we are proud to support this cause. We believe in fostering a healthier, more inclusive community, and partnering with CNOY allows us to contribute to a world where no one goes hungry or without shelter.

Here’s what you can expect at the event on February 22nd:
