Junior Squash Program Starting this February at Lakeshore Recreation.

At Lakeshore Recreation, we are thrilled to announce the launch of our brand-new 6-Week Junior Squash Program, BEGINS February 2! Designed for young sports enthusiasts aged ~10-13 and ~14-17, this program offers an exciting opportunity to learn and excel in the dynamic world of squash. Set indoors during winter, kids will not only enhance their squash skills but will also stay active in a fun, engaging environment. There are limited spots available, so sign-up Today at Reception.


Join us on Sundays for two thrilling small group sessions: from 9-10 AM and 10-11 AM. Whether your young athlete is a beginner or has some prior experience, our skilled coaching staff will ensure every participant has a great time learning the game. The 6-week program kicks off on February 2nd and wraps up on March 9th. Mark your calendars, parents!

Why Choose Our Junior Squash Program?

Program Details

This program is intended to be for kids aged ~10-17.

  • Introduce the fundamentals of squash, focusing on technique and making learning enjoyable through engaging drills.

  • Aim to enhance skills and understanding of game strategies, while encouraging a competitive spirit and sportsmanship.


The program spans six Sundays, making it a manageable commitment to start your child’s weekend with fun and exercise. We remind all participants to wear non-marking shoes to protect our squash court and ensure a better playing experience.

What to Expect from the Sessions


Our lead instructor, William Forsyth, will guide players through every session*. William is a knowledgeable squash player with a passion for teaching. His dedication ensures that participants leave each session feeling accomplished and eager for the next. Other Lakeshore Squash Club members may assist Will with the drills and lessons.


William's commitment to nurturing a love for squash makes this experience more than just athletic training—it's about personal growth and confidence-building!

  • Jr. Squash Program (Six, 1-hour Sunday morning small group sessions.) + 6-Week Lakeshore Student Membership (Feb. 2-Mar. 16)* the cost is $99. *This special can be added onto for current monthly memberships!


  • Jr. Squash Program ONLY (Six, 1-hour Sunday morning small group sessions.) $70

  • For Existing Yearly Student Members, the first time Jr. Squash Sunday Program entry fee is $0. Sign-Up at Reception.


Gear Up for Success


All necessary equipment will be provided. Players are welcome to bring their own racquets if they have them, fostering comfort during gameplay. This program emphasizes not just learning to play squash but also having fun, making new friends, and creating lasting memories. Non-marking, indoor shoes required.


As the start date approaches, we encourage families to discuss expectations with their children. Setting personal goals—whether it’s simply to enjoy the sport or to work towards becoming a competitive player—can greatly enhance their experience.
