Pickleball Now In Season!

Pickleball Season has started!

With the excitement of warmer weather and longer days, Lakeshore Recreation and Saugeen Shores Pickleball Club (SSPC) are thrilled to welcome you back to the courts.

Whether you're a seasoned player or new to the game, this season promises plenty of action, learning, and fun. To help you get the most out of your pickleball experience, we've compiled some frequently asked questions and highlighted the exciting events happening in June.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

When will the courts be ready at Lakeshore Recreation?

The original 8 courts are available now! We’re working on the new additional 8 courts.

How much are court memberships?

Membership prices are listed here. There are different options/packages available. Figure out how often you'll be playing each week, and then you'll know which option is the best value for you.

How much is the SSPC membership this year?

$25 for the calendar year.

Do I need to join both?

You do need to pay Lakeshore's court fees, whether you choose to "pay-as-you-go," a season's membership, or one of the short-term options. If you're going to be playing afternoons and/or evenings, you do not need to join Saugeen Shores Pickleball Club (SSPC).

You only need to join the pickleball club if you want to play mornings Monday through Saturday. During those times, all of the courts are for the exclusive use of SSPC.

Do I have to join before I've even tried pickleball?

You'll need to pay the daily court fee, but you can come twice to play pickleball before you have to decide whether or not to join the pickleball club.

You will have to come during Club play, which is Monday through Saturday mornings from 9-Noon. We call it "Two to Try," but we're pretty certain you'll love it!

Where do I get a paddle and balls?

SSPC has paddles for guests/visitors, and the club supplies the balls during club play. If you're playing during the afternoon or evening, Lakeshore will lend you the equipment until you have your own.
